I have worked with AMD now for the past 20 years on no less than 70 retail projects and a couple of very high end residential projects in Kensington and Mustique.
AMD’s main strength is their ability to listen to and come up with innovative and fresh new ideas to suit the client’s requirements. In a world where almost everything has been tried before I don’t know how they do this but they do! More than any other designers that we have worked with at Jigsaw they have been able to consistently provide us with fresh new shop interiors that suit the brand, the customer, the budget and the existing building very well. They have re-fitted modest 600 square foot out of town stores and have also created our most expensive flagship shop in the Kings Road.
One of the biggest frustrations we have as a client is receiving a new design but with no details or information as to how it is going to be built and installed? AMD are very practical and work things right through from the initial concept to sourcing the right materials, to detailing how things go together and actually taking ownership of the design until the project is successfully delivered.
They are nice straightforward people to work with and are good team-players and will work with the team to find the best solution. Andrew Martin himself has a wealth of experience, knowledge and practical ability to draw-on but refreshingly he has not a hint of arrogance about him and is always willing to listen and learn new ways of working and take-on board new ideas, you will not find anyone more modest about his achievements.
AMD have a good range of abilities and experience within their team and unusually are capable of very complex and technical spiral staircase designs to detailing intricate metalwork and balustrades etc. This combined with their good working knowledge of construction, building regulations and planning requirements makes them a very rounded organisation. From the interiors perspective they also have expertise in graphics and furniture design and sourcing (especially antiques).
Finally having worked in construction now for the past 36 years I have obviously come across many companies and I can honestly say these guys are the best in what they do!

We have worked with AMD from the very inception of The New Craftsmen and they are without a doubt our most vital collaborator. No challenge has been to extreme, no idea too crazy, no deadline too tight – they have always found a way of making things work with fantastic results. Andrew and his team are creative, practical, pragmatic and flexible. We can’t imagine a better company to help bring our vision to life.
